چکیده

In many parts of the world, particularly remote and underdeveloped regions, reports fisheries catch, effort, landing data are limited. order to implement effective fishing regulations protect natural stocks, understanding pressure, key target species, catch composition, value each species is vital. regions where published limited, sampling numerous small boats sites not feasible, fish market surveys represent an opportunity obtain data. This study therefore aims species-specific prices composition for landed in central Red Sea by surveying local markets. We conducted 11 at two major markets ascertain metrics using as a proxy Results indicate that high proportion generated 46 from six family-level groups, Serranidae, Labridae, scarine labrids, Carangidae, Lethrinidae, Lutjanidae, contributing 87 % total biomass. Species-specific values ranged 4.50 USD/kg 26.44 USD/kg, with highlighting economic three serranid species: Plectropomus pessuliferus marisrubri , areolatus Variola louti all valued more than 25 labrid: Cheilinus undulatus USD/kg. The Serranidae family represents 47 biomass 55 potential revenue market, while also indicating potentially overfished reefs due occurrence smaller undersized individuals higher priced species. Many high-valued serranids were below size sexual maturity. Target exhibited body decreasing abundance, “shrinking baseline” scenario occurring Saudi Arabian artisanal coral reef fishery. These results introducing legislation management necessary longevity sustainability reef-based fishery Sea. Implementing quotas, limits, seasonal restrictions mechanisms could be used facilitate positive change within this vulnerable

Fish sampling was conducted to evaluate the species diversity of fish in 4 stations in Sanandaj Azad dam ecosystem seasonally from summer of 2017 to spring of 2018. A total of 1057 fish were caught in 12 species, of which more than 80% were caught in the lake behind the dam. The Cyprinidae family had 11 species with the most species diversity and only Sasanidus kermanshahensis belonged to the N...

Phenotypic diversity of infectious red sea bream iridovirus isolates from cultured fish in Japan.

Megalocytivirus is causing economically serious mass mortality by infecting fish in and around the Pacific region of Asia. The recent emergence of many new iridoviruses has drawn attention to the marked taxonomic variation within this virus family. Most studies of these viruses have not included extensive study of these emergent species. We explored the emergence of red sea bream iridovirus (RS...

The Mediterranean and Black Sea Fisheries at Risk from Overexploitation

The status of the Mediterranean and Black Sea fisheries was evaluated for the period 1970-2010 on a subarea basis, using various indicators including the temporal variability of total landings, the number of recorded stocks, the mean trophic level of the catch, the fishing-in-balance index and the catch-based method of stock classification. All indicators confirmed that the fisheries resources ...
